Support

For help, email smolkapps@gmail.com. Include your CodeVault version, iOS version, device model and the steps that led to the problem. Share an example code only if you are comfortable sending its content.

Scanning and saved codes

The camera cannot read a code

Check CodeVault’s camera permission in iOS Settings. Place the whole code in view, keep the camera steady, and avoid glare. You can also scan from a photo. Not every scanned format can be recreated as a new barcode.

What does Remove from Library do?

It removes the code from My Barcodes while keeping any existing scan history. Delete Barcode on the code’s detail screen deletes that record. Clearing Scan History does not delete codes saved in your library.

Where is my library stored?

On your device. CodeVault does not provide automatic cross-device library sync. Keep a device backup if you need to recover local app data. Sharing a code image is not a backup of your library.

Creating and sharing

How do I create a code?

Open Create, choose a code format and enter your content. Different formats accept different characters and lengths. If a value is not accepted, check the selected format or use a QR code for text and links.

How do I share a code image?

Open a saved code, tap its share button and choose Share Image. Select a destination in the system share sheet. An image contains the code, so send it only to a destination you trust.

How do I find something I saved?

Open My Barcodes and use search. Notes and categories help you organize codes you want to keep. Scan History is available from the More tab.

A code opens a website or product lookup

Check a link before opening it. CodeVault can send you to an external website or product search; that destination has its own content and privacy practices. An unreadable or unfamiliar code should not be treated as proof that a link or product is safe.
