Workflow plugins privacy
Applies to Statement to Excel and Subtitle Kit. Updated October 1, 2026.
File processing
These plugins run in the execution environment provided by your ChatGPT or Codex session. They read files you supply and write the outputs you request. In ChatGPT Work, that environment can be a cloud computer. Uploaded files and outputs are subject to the host platform’s storage policies.
Statement to Excel reads redacted statement text, transaction dates, descriptions, amounts and balances. Its review report also contains source excerpts and page references. Remove account and card numbers, government IDs, credentials and unrelated personal identifiers before uploading. Subtitle Kit reads subtitle text and timestamps. Its repair report contains original and resulting cue text and times.
Recipients and storage
The plugins have no separate document-upload service, developer database, accounts, advertising or telemetry. Your files aren't sent to a Smolkapps server by the plugin. The host platform processes and stores uploaded files, conversations and generated outputs under its own policies and settings.
First-use setup for Statement to Excel downloads software packages from the Python Package Index. Subtitle Kit includes a Linux x86_64 executable; other platforms build it using dependencies from crates.io. Package downloads can disclose ordinary network connection details to those services, but setup doesn't receive your document contents. The runtime cache contains software, not copies of your documents.
Retention and controls
The plugins don't set the host platform's retention period. Use that platform's file, conversation and data controls to manage uploaded documents and outputs. In a local Codex environment, you can delete your input files, generated files and runtime cache yourself. Disconnecting a plugin doesn't necessarily delete files already stored by the host.
If you contact support, we receive the message and any files you attach. Please send a redacted example or error message instead of a full financial statement. We use support messages to investigate the reported issue. Support messages and attachments remain in the support mailbox; there is no automatic deletion schedule. You can request deletion by email.
These public information pages don't embed analytics or advertising. Our web host may receive normal request logs, including IP address, requested page and browser details.
